Odds and Ends

Friday is Idul Adah, the Day of Sacrifice.  Muslims celebrate Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Issac.  Everywhere are these small baskets –

“Traditional Markets” – Indonesia is packed with these traditional markets which are about 30-50% cheaper than Western-style stores (Ace Hardware, Carrefour (like Walmart, etc.).  These markets are fascinating, but are NOT for anyone who is claustrophobic!

  1. That nativity piece is amazing!!! That’s interesting that they commemorate Abraham’s sacrifice. That store reminds me of the little Hispanic store off the square, hard to maneuver in there with all the stuff they have. So fun to see all the pictures. Love and miss you!!
