Gado-Gado and Karedok are traditional Javanese salads.  Nasi is rice and lontong is rice formed into a tube then sliced.

There are goat pens all over Indonesia getting ready for Idul Adah this Friday (Sept 1).  This is the Muslim celebration of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Issac.  The meat is then donated to the poor.
