A few Odds & Ends from our trip to Solo.
Here it is – SIX people on a bike!
Carrying a load
This couple played very traditional Javanese music every morning in the hotel lobby. I describe it as “hauntingly beautiful”.
These kids go to school right next to the Banyuanyar well site
It never ends

Traditional Javanese restaurant (and art in the foreground) – dark, open air, low tables (although we had one with chairs). Lunch for all four of us was 98,000 Rp ($7.50).
You can have any color shoe you want as long as it’s black.
Rice chips drying in the sun.
hauling feed for her cattle
A not-very-good pic of a lady carrying vegetation on her back. Sorry, it was so fast I had to take it out the back window of the car
Giant elephant ears
The wife is sitting in the back riding on top of the vegetation he was hauling.
Cart on porch
Carrying water and propane
Meeting one of the recipients of the Banyuanyar water project. Many older Indonesians speak only their local dialect and not Indonesian – this man speaks only Javanese.
