A few Odds & Ends from our trip to Solo.

This couple played very traditional Javanese music every morning in the hotel lobby.  I describe it as “hauntingly beautiful”.

Traditional Javanese restaurant (and art in the foreground) – dark, open air, low tables (although we had one with chairs).  Lunch for all four of us was 98,000 Rp ($7.50).

Meeting one of the recipients of the Banyuanyar water project.  Many older Indonesians speak only their local dialect and not Indonesian – this man speaks only Javanese.
