Limbs for the Limbless – Semarang

A month ago, our partner Yaysan Paduli Tuna Daksa (Limbs for the Limbless) was in Semarang to assess and measure; today was the return visit to fit the limbs to the recipients.  We set up right outside the multi-purpose room of the Semarang Ward building and the people came…

This little guy also has CP, and needs a support chair.  We’ll check with UCP/RUK and try and get him a chair.

His new leg doesn’t have the tat and he says he will leave it clean.

Trying out her new leg – first timer, so she needs crutches for balance.

Aura and his buddy, both leaving, but carrying their new legs!  They are not instantly comfortable,  so they have to get used to them.

I wanted to end with a repeat of Ayanna – this picture captures the feelings of so many there!  The recipients were universal in their appreciation and they were so thankful and so grateful for their new limbs and were not shy about saying so!

What a great work this is – and we are so grateful for the many members of the Church who contribute to the Humanitarian Fund!.  It’s wonderful that LDS Charities is involved in so many efforts like this.  We believe this kind of work is what the Savior would be doing if He were here and we are so grateful to be a part of it!
