Linda K. Burton – Relief Society President

Linda K. Burton is the President of the Relief Society of the LDS Church.  The Relief Society is one of the largest and oldest women’s organization in the world, founded in 1842.  Their motto is “Charity Never Faileth”.

Sister Burton is traveling throughout Asia and she spoke Wednesday evening to a large gathering of sisters from the Jakarta Stake (some traveled 2-3 hours to be here).

The next day was a devotional for the Service Center staff.

After the devotional, there was a missionary training meeting.  A very uplifting message from Sister Buron, who quoted an African proverb: ‘When you want to go fast, go alone; when you want to far, go together.”  That really is a great message for DeeAnn and me – it’s not about how fast we can do stuff – it’s about how far we can take the work.

After meeting, lunch….

Lunch was Nasi Tempung, a traditional cone of yellow rice, surrounded by all kinds of meat and vegetables

A great meeting and a great lunch.  A great day to be uplifted!
